Meet Dayna Clarke

Dayna Clarke joined the SOWA team in January as the Administrative Quality Program Assistant. Learn about Dayna and why we’re so excited to have her on our team!
Where are you from?
I was born in California but I grew up in Bothell, WA. I have been taking on new adventures as a Seattleite for the past three years or so.
What do you like to do in your own time?
I love going to see live music and enjoying the various events that go on around the city. The many opportunities to share different aspects of our cultures, interests, and talents is probably one of my favorite things about Seattle. I also enjoy watching movies and reading a good book.
What brought you to SOWA?
I started volunteering in afterschool programs in high school. Over the years that experience compounded with a passion for youth empowerment along with great opportunities in the afterschool youth development field. As a school-age counselor at the Y, I had a training with School’s Out Washington. I came to really admire the work that SOWA does and am so excited to now be here!
Tell us one thing that you are proud of.
While studying at the University of Washington Bothell I was pretty active on campus. One day, a photographer took a picture of Hollie the Husky mascot and the campus event planning group I was in. That picture ended up being hung over the parking garage annually as a “Welcome Back Students” banner. It was unexpected, but I’m definitely proud to have left my mark on UWB.
